The smaller ones are classic and perhaps earlier vintage, the larger ones easier to clean, and the floral ones just plain beautiful. Good luck!!

Was recently in a house master bath that has almost the same patterned tile that you are showing above. Was a bit overwhelming and, somehow, cheapened the look of the bathroom. May not be the case in your situation but though I would voice an opinion.

I like the size shown in the picture with the penny tile and patterned tile. Re the comment above about the floor pattern being overwhelming, I would not use it in a large bathroom, but generally, Jack and Jill bathrooms aren't especially large.

Great input from everyone. We think both sizes can work, but our vote is for the larger tile. Less grout lines means easier to keep bright and clean.

I don't know what is more classic but I went for 3" x 6" subway tiles (but not white). I liked the way they looked. They are more expensive for the same square footage but the price differential for materials and labor were worth it to me because I liked the aesthetics.

Mine are wall tiles as I have basketweave tiles on the floor. I don't find the tiles and grout especially hard to clean. I think modern grout is lower maintenance if you get the right grout and my grout is a color that matches the edges of the actual tiles. I think most people agree that white grout is problematic in terms of maintenance versus lighter colors and most people seem to opt for platinum gray grout with white subway tiles for easier maintenance.

I don't know if the cement tiles are classic but they are beautiful and I think are in line with a classic Florida bungalow. Aren't those kinds of tiles used in Latin countries?

Both subway tiles look amazing, but our advice is to go for the large ones. Not only they are easier to clean, but they will also give your bathroom a custom look without being over the top.

thank you all for sharing your thoughts on the tile. we ended up with the largest tile for the wet walls. Here is part of the bathrooms...we used the same tiles in both master and guest but used chrome finishes in master and black for guest hence the back niche... I think we are unsure about the penny tile shower floor...will post more once complete!
