last minute oven decision - need help

We are about to order our cabinets and have had second thoughts about our oven decisions. We were set on the Miele steam oven over the electric Miele convected oven. We were very happy with the steam oven features and need both ovens for the baking we do. However, we are going with a Blue Star 48 inch range top and never gave the electric Blue Star ovens any consideration. Does anyone have any advice or any reviews on either brand of oven?

OMG I didn't mean for my comment to sound like it did. What I meant was that the thread I linked to was not perfect for you, but it should give you some insights. My apologies for being so unclear. Typing faster than thinking and not proofreading- bad GWer ;-)

PS I don't think you can make a bad choice between those two ovens. I have MIeles and love them. The CSO is the best thing ever.

This is not the perfect thread for you, but Jerry Jorgensson is on the thread and I know he loves his BS oven. IDK if it's gas or electric though.

No worries! Thank you for responding! Rita, can you tell me why you love it so much? We are leaning to the Miele because our cabinets have been designed around it. We got the rave reviews from the kitchen store about the steam oven, but that seems like so long ago now.

Aside from the magic the CSO works, I don't have any unusually high praise for the Miele ovens.I had them in a previous house and am putting them into my ski house now. They are reliable, but I do not use all the preprogrammed assistance. Jerry on the thread I linked to is a far more prolific and proficient cook than I am. He turns out gorgeous baked goods in Blue Star. I roast meats and vegetables, make gratins and bake very basic cookies and cakes. A low end Bosch oven would suit me fine.

When we remodeled our kitchen a couple of years ago, we skipped the range bit and went with a Bluestar electric wall oven and a Wolf induction cooktop.. We really like the Bluestar because there's no bending over, the french doors don't stick out very far, and you can put a full size baking tray in or a dozen "take to work" loaves. The induction cooktop cooks fast and keeps the kitchen cool. Next time it will be a Bluestar induction--which wasn't even announced when we did the remodel--cooktop because the Bluestar has knobs. The touchscreen and I don't get along all that well :-)

Thank you so much Jerry! We have decided to stick with the Miele steam oven and regular bottom oven. We love Blue star and are very excited about our Blue Star has rangetop but also felt that the steam option would be good for us. Tough decision!
