I do not care for the dark sink at all. I like the cream, if it goes with your cabinets and granite - and stainless is always a safe option.

Have you ever seen a Silgranit sink, or at least the material, in person? I know a lot of people like them but I’m not a fan, so if those are my choices I would go with stainless. Kraus makes a good quality sink (definitely get the heaviest you can).

Blanco is what we have and love it. Its 12 inches deep and I can even fit my tall 3 year old in there for a bath since his tub was being repaired.

I have a Blanco Silgranit Biscuit sink, my husband dumps his black coffee in the sink. It is always looking dirty. I have to follow the Blanco instructions for stubborn stain removal regularly. It is annoying. I am getting stainless next time. It is also chipped from where people have dropped forks into the sink and the tines were facing downward.

Per Blanco: For stubborn stains ~ a solution of
50% bleach, 50% water should only be used for tough, stubborn stains. Let the solution sit in the bottom
of the sink for one hour; then scrub. Rinse well.

Nobody wants a 50/50 sink anymore. He does dishes? Great! Use a mat next to the sink:)

And nothing is easier than stainless. A good one . Nice big single bowl for the pots and pans.

I would do the truffle silgranit. I have an elkay quartz sink. It's a 60/40 low divide. We can do dishes in it easily. We use it a lot. It hasn't stained (it's black), and there are absolutely no chips. We don't baby it at all. I have 6 kids living at home, 7 during the summer, and this has taken a lot of abuse. We've had it almost a year.

My Kraus sink arrived yesterday, I can't believe how great the quality is! Highly recommend! I got their prep sink also, blown away that I got these amazing sinks for such a great deal on amazon.

I have had fireclay sinks and stainless steel. I lean toward SS. I currently have a Krauss sink in this new build. We like it. We have also had Oliveria. I loved that sink. It was huge and made really well. It is now double the price of the Krauss so we went with the Krauss. I agree get a sink that you like to use. Double or single make sure it is what you like. And get a sink that is heavy that won't rust. Look for 18 percent chromium and 8 percent nickel to avoid corrosion. Get a sink that 16 or 18 gauge. You want to stay away from 22 gauge. They dent a little more than the others. But when I say dent, All sinks will get dented or scratched but I have found a satin to sort of hide those minor scratches. There are sinks that claim to be scratch resistant. I don't think they really are.

60/40 with low divide. I always have things in the dish drainer in the small side and hate having it on the counter.

Definitely stainless. I prefer a large single bowl but if a double bowl would inspire my husband to do dishes I could be persuaded to a double bowl.

When we moved into our current home, it was a newer build and had the dark brown sink installed, with white/grey quartz and dark cabinets. I would have never chosen the combination, but I have to say that I love the sink!! It doesn't show any spots, easy to clean.

Stainless Steel and get Bar Keepers Friend to keep it shiny and new looking. Single or double but as deep as your cabinets will allow.

+1 on what localeater says. I went back and forth between stainless and silgranit. Couldn’t find a stainless sink in my price range that didn’t have 0 radius corners. Went with white silgranit. Ditto the coffee stains, which I clean with pretty much every other day with baking soda and dish soap. Ditto the chips from forks or what-have-you that are discolored and don’t come clean. So so so disappointed.

A sink is a personal preference. What works for others might not work for you. Once a granite counter is installed, a sink cannot be changed. Similar to Jan Moyer, my fabricator had ro have sink prior to cutting granite. I would not rush an expensive decision that may cause remorse. Personally, I’d eat out for Thanksgiving.

I had a Silgranit sink in our last kitchen and loved it but went with stainless in our new house because our builder didn't offer the color we wanted and honestly it's just as nice to me.

I would either choose the stainless steel or the biscuit one...no one wants a poop brown sink. But, the biscuit will show more food particles, etc so I'd personally lean more toward the stainless.

We are going with Blanco Silgranit and even my husband is excited about the choice. We have seen them in person and like the appearance and the feel (and all the positive reviews). We have not finalized our color choice, but it will either be Metallic Gray or Truffle. We like having color, either light or dark, whichever will match the best. Not a fan of stainless. Can you take Blanco color samples to your fabricator (and home with a counter sample to look at in your own light) to help you finalize your color choice? FYI, I believe the dark brown sample we saw was pretty dark. The cream may be too light.. Truffle might be a good fit, would be great to get a color sample to hold next to your counter material. Oh ~ and I concur with the suggestion to not rush the decision/install. A new kitchen (especially one forced upon you by a rogue dishwasher or other disaster) is a big deal. An expensive, long-lasting big deal. Don't rush. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply Re the Krause sink. We just received our Franke SS Kubus 28” Sink. We purchased it because of all the positive reviews about the inside “shelf” - it was 3x the cost of the Krause, so I hope it will prove to be worth it. Made in Switzerland 18 gauge which we were told is as good as the 16 gauge Chinese....we hope so. Now to buy the bottom rack and the middle shelf rack...all the accessories sure add up. Also looking for a sleek gooseneck faucet now - considering Grohe.

I had a 60/40 SS in my last house & I miss it!! The 40 side was fine for the few hand wash things to drain. It was always clean for washing veggies, especially greens.

I have the second sink (60/40) with stainless footed grid inserts...really like it. The previous sink was the same make but didn’t have the grid inserts...a very useful addition.
