I like your idea, actually. Placing the trim even with the laundry trim would trick the eye into thinking the doors are even. I would lose the rosettes where the door trims meet. Treat this a one door and keep the rosettes on the far sides of your doors.

The line in the specs would be "all abutting window/door heads to be aligned"
