Artistsharnova nailed it, any of those. Two chairs and a round table has my vote. Also mounted shouldn't mean for life. The shelves dont work there. Spackle and paint is a 15m job. Or cover it with one piece of art. You could do better with the entry mirror, and drapes should hang from ceiling to floor and there should be 2 panels PER WINDOW for the luxurious fullness you see in well designed spaces.

Spell PIPE DREAM for seating, it's on top of the entry.. Get some REAL shelving, and fill the niche. Float and angle a nice writing table , the desk chair where you now have the "eeny weeny" teen desk. Dtch the curtains, get some nice roman shades.

It's AN ENTRY. Nobody wants to sit there to converse, Make a work spot, mail spot, pay the bulls spot. Everything else? O.U.T

I think adding crown molding and a nice window seat with additional storage on the bottom would add nice detail to that area, change the drapes to nice decorative blinds, etc.

I like the window seat idea. Be sure to design it with storage for shoes, boots, mittens and other front door needs. Is there a coat closet? You may be able to add a closet on the wall opposite the entry door as part of the window seat design. You’d have to remove the shelves.

I love the living room setup. Nice place.

P.S. the shelves are attached, but can be removed. Don’t limit yourself because of those shelves.

I agree with JAN MOYER . I would find a writing style desk with an open feel. Perhaps additional shelving for books.

Love the bay; hate the door…betting this is a Victorian, rehabbed, and is a condo?

That bay is one of the best things in the room…make it special. Window treatments, seating…lovely look to great guests. You can use it for reading or looking out the window and watching the world go by.

Front door…can you change it?
