Wood-Like Tile Options

After a disastrous install of a dark bamboo flooring which buckled throughout my home, we have finally gotten approval to move forward with wood like tile which seems to be a better fit for our home since we do have some moisture issues. I love the dark rich color of the bamboo and was hoping that I would find an wood like tile that looked very similar. Unfortunately I am struggling to find something with the same look.

I am now between two different options. The first is the closest I can find, Stockbridge Espresso, although it much more brown and only comes in 6x24 (original bamboo is small square)

The second options is Ozark Brown (bottom right) which is the bottom right option. It’s completely different but does come in 6x36 planks. This is laying on the current bamboo floor and the Stockbridge espresso is the bottom tile

Any advice or recommendations? The rest of the home is predominantly gray and white- the tile will run throughout the entire home with exception of the bathrooms. I think it is so hard to give up the bamboo floors and I think it is really impacting my ability to make a decision so would welcome all insights...

When it comes to wood look tile, the more “faces” the better. I also found that if it comes in different plank sizes it looks more realistic. Also you’ll want to make sure you have an experienced tile layer to do the job. Choose a grout color close to the floor color and make sure the tile layer keeps the grout line thin. I love my wood look tile, nobody can tell it is tile and it is basically indestructible with my kids and dog.

I really like both your options... can't go wrong with either one. Your choice should hinge on how much natural light you have in your home and if you like the rich, darker look (Stockbridge Espresso) or prefer a lighter, fresh look (Ozark Brown). The Ozark Brown won't show dust and dirt as much. The Stockbridge Espresso seems very close in color to what you have now, so if you really like that I would choose the Expresso. I actually prefer the Expresso coloring in the photo above over your bamboo, it is a bit more neutral (less red) and will look great with the grays in your home.

Great points. Both options can work. It comes down to the lighting plan / levels and preference. Both would work for almost any interior décor style. Take your time deciding. Explore Pinterest to find interiors that feature both. You will eventually love one more than the other.

Both options are helpful and they both can work perfectly on floor. Its just up to you, if you like to have Stock bridge or Ozark brown. In my opinion Ozark Brown wont show dirt as much as stock bridge so i actually prefer Stockbridge. Cleaning this flooring is lot easier when compared to the Ozark Brown
