It is pressure treated wood that has turned over time. There is 1 door over.

The door surely should be lightened up, but are you making other changes? There are already several colors to consider....gray, tan, white, etc. Have you considered pressure washing the porch/railings/steps? The gray makes the area so dark and it contrasts with the tan section.

The tan siding clashes with the aged gray wood. Can it be painted or replaced? The fussy little arched windows don't go with the rustic house at all. If the front door was white it might be visible on the shaded porch. The stairs indicate where the door is located. The whole picture would be a lot better with some landscaping.

1. Protect that wood now that the pressure treatment is no longer doing its job. Consider using a solid stain on the weathered wood:

2. Paint the trim, the posts and railings with a nice bright white paint to maximize the contrast.

3. Paint the door in the same bright white paint so that it stands out.

Beautiful

Truth hurts

I appreciate all the input. I agree the tan siding needs something and I need to check into staining wood. I am hopeful the new door will help.
