511 mix for winter sowing?

I was wondering if 511 is good for winter sowing. What I'm concerned about is the pine bark fines in the ingrediants. I'm wondering if those large pieces might interfere with the germination of very small, dustlike seeds like Lobelias. Any thoughts are appreciated.
