Dining room help please

last modified: 7 years ago

I have a wrought iron dining room table and chairs. The chairs are so heavy that nobody enjoys using them as they are difficult to maneuver. I would like to change them out. I am thinking about these chairs from Restoration Hardware . Room is approx 13.5 x 13.5 with 12 foot ceilings.

Do you think these chairs would work:

Host/Hostess Belgian Linen - Sand color

OR

- Madeleine side chair in black with Belgian Line -Sand cushion

The fully upholstered chairs look like they would be very difficult to keep clean - think tomato sauce or oil/grease stains.

Fortunately, the slipcovers are removable and can be cleaned.

Anyone? I would really appreciate an opinion if the chairs would go with my table. Thanks.

I like your choice of Madeleine chairs in black. The other chairs which you have chosen may probably cause the same issue as big and bulky and difficult to move. If you really like them then you can perhaps use them as end chairs only.

i think the chair has to be simple as to not clash with your wrought iron. So I think the Madeleine chairs would not work. Also, they are a different style altogether. https://www.wayfair.ca/furniture/pdp/darby-home-co-woodcliff-side-chair-drbc5862.html

Prika Design - I just found this picture and this is the arrangement I was thinking of:

Do you think that arrangement would work with my table?

Thanks Silverae for the chair suggestion.

    Not a Pro.

The Medeleine Chairs works with your dining room decor, but as mentioned above by Teresa the side chairs do not.

They have the armchair to complement the side chair.

I like the slipcovered chairs because they break up the black a bit.

If I were to go with the slipcovered chairs as host/hostess chairs - does the wingback or sloped arm chair present more of a formal image? Or go better with the Madeleine side chair?

I also like the slipcovered chairs because they add a little bit of height. I have 12.5' ceilings downstairs.

Disregard what I wrote above. I meant the slip cover chair works with your decor not the other. I miss read. Sorry.

What side chairs would you recommend with the slip covered chairs?

Does anyone know a way to insert the chairs into the picture?

NOTE: Madeleine is the side chair. Belgian Slope or Belgian Wingchair is the slip covered chair

I think I confused the chairs! I like the slipcovered hostess chairs from RH with your table. But the wood ones, even though they are black, are not compatible with the formality of the wrought iron scrolled table.
