Awkward bedroom windows

last modified: 7 years ago

Last weekend I started out wanting to buy a house that's twice as big. By the end of the weekend I was looking at hacks for tiny houses!
My big idea is to revamp the bedroom by turning two small closets into one large and making a platform bed with storage underneath. I would also like to add a touch of luxury to the space.
The windows in this room (and throughout the house) are pretty awkward. The ones in the bedroom are high and short and meet in the corner. I'm picturing light colored curtains from about 4-6"above and below the window. I don't necessarily want longer curtains so I can utilize the floor and wall space there. I'm picturing a corner curtain rod, but I'm not sure about the panel placement. One on each end and between each window (4)? One per window (3)? What would look best and let the most light in while open? I'm open to completely different ideas, too!
They already have these ruddy red shades which are great for keeping the light out. My husband also doesn't want to get rid of them.
Thanks for your help!
