I have SW Accessible Beige and BM Revere Pewter samples on my walls as I type trying to decide between those 2, along with BM Edgecomb Gray. I don't think you need to wait to paint, all those colors are so neutral they will go with any flooring or furniture. I'm doing the same thing right now, getting the ceiling and walls painted b4 the new flooring is installed. I've also read in other posts that Revere Pewter is a chameleon color, meaning it sort of takes on other colors in the room. I thought I would want the Revere Pewter, but it's bothering that on the wall where the lighting is hits the most, it has blue/green undertones... although I like it on the other walls. I wish I had the SW Agreeable Gray sample to try. BM Edgecomb Gray is very similar to accessible beige, slightly lighter. That's what I have going on right now. I have SW Anew Gray in my kitchen, but it's too dark for my LR and seems to have slightly pink undertones in my LR as well. I would pay the $5 to get samples and put them here and there on your walls. it's crazy how different the colors look from Pinterest to your own walls. I'm still undecided here as well, but need to make a decision in the next 3 hours! I believe I'm going to go with Revere Pewter, I just hope it's not too dark for my small LR.

Thanks so much for your insight. As of now, I still have 2 weeks until I move in so I have just been making mood boards to find the color palettes that I like.

I agree with both of you. There are so many variables that you can’t even begin to consider, such as lighting, surrounding trim, floors, etc.

Since we can’t afford that much furniture upfront, do you think ordering upholstery swatches is a reasonable way of determining whether a certain piece is going to flow?

I would suggest a lighter color such as SW Modern Gray or SW Natural Choice. Those are colors that provide a lit of flexibility since you don’t have flooring installed. All colors are subject to the natural and artificial light in a room. Definitely get samples just do not paint on walls. Worst way to test color. Good white trim will help moderate your wall color. Use “flat finish” on walls and ceilings and semi gloss or satin finish on trim.

I just finished painting my living room BM Revere Pewter and it's SO different from the warm wheat color I had. I'm totally second guessing my decision now because it looks so cool compared to what I had. It's definitely more modern and hoping once I get my new flooring in and furniture it will warm up... but as of now it's going to take a bit to get used to. The color is great, it's just ever so slightly darker than I wanted. I wished I had SW Agreeable Gray to try when I was making my decision, it's very similar to RP but slightly brighter. BM Edgecomb Gray is a really nice color too you should consider. SW Accessible Beige may have been a slightly warmer color I should've done and not so drastic of a change... but the word 'Beige' in the color name got me.

I think Revere Pewter is too dark and will look drab in your space. Of your three, I think Agreeable Gray will work best, but you may want to talk to a color expert to see if there are better options.

I did Revere Pewter most of my house 1st and 2nd floors last year and did 3rd floor Edgecomb Gray. Edgecomb Gray is not gray at all. It’s mostly a neutral cream. I like that it’s neutral and throws no undertones but I wished it was a little gray. Everyone loves the Revere Pewter and it’s not dark at all

So I have to decide by tonight due to the painter’s schedule. I have narrowed it down to Accessible Beige and Agreeable Gray. They are almost identical but I’m leaning closer to the Accessible Beige due to its touch of warmth. I just hope it goes with the gunstock oak hard wood.

They are almost identical hues, the difference is the chroma - AG has less. I have both in my home and I prefer AG, because the peachy tones are more visible in AB. It sounds like that’s what you like about AB. Have you looked at them with other fixed elements — tile, countertops, carpet?

Thanks Susie. That’s a good idea to include the countertops. We don’t have any carpet. Just the hard wood floor. I also included the swatches of the furniture we ordered.

The only thing I noticed with agreeable gray is a subtle pink undertone in some areas

@Jenna You can't go wrong with either one of those colors, both will look great with that flooring. They are both neutral enough to work with anything. I also agree that AB may add a bit more warmth.

Agreeable Beige would work better with your elements and I have used both colors in several homes.

I have Revere Pewter on the walls throughout our home. Not too dark at all....very neutral “greige” colour.

But OP, if you check this, I'm curious what you ultimately chose as I am currently debating the exact same colors, as well as Balboa Mist, White Duck and BM Natural Cream, and also have the exact same room situation - north facing family room off the kitchen.

I'd love to know what worked! Such a tricky problem, I have light oak floors with a light honey tone that are soon to be refinished.

Definitely suggest going with the lighter colors!
