I think your home has lovely curb appeal. I especially like the collection of stone and rocks in the front bed. They have a "personal" touch. Your landscaping is pleasing and well kept. I would like to see more of your front door. I realize the red bush with the lacy leaf effect - Japanese Maple? - gives you some privacy at your door without being massive and dense but would also look good anchoring the far left side of your bed. Darker trim around the garage door area and upper windows would be an accent and add some weight and balance to that side of the house.

The Japanese Maple, beautiful though it is, should be moved all the way over to the left so the front door is not obscured. Then paint the door a bright color that pleases your eye. The rest of the landscaping looks very nice. That would go a long way to transforming the curb appeal! The other thing you could do it to paint the entire house (including garage doors) a color that coordinates with the roof.

Agree the pretty Japanese maple could be...carefully...moved to the left. Your windows just aren't appropriate for shutters. Each shutter, functional or decorative should be half the window's width. The upper windows are too close together, and the lower one is much too large.

The porch area looks dark. Maybe you could lighten the color of the siding.

I would remove the shutters, the eagle, and your current “colonial” lighting. I would move the garage door windows up to the top of the doors (they can be swapped out) so the space above them doesn’t look that large. I would look into installing more modern lights above your garage doors....something that better reflects the 60’s vibe of your home. Good luck as you update your sweet home!

Do you have a sunroom or a covered patio in back? The wicker seating would do much better there and looks out of place on the front porch. Shutters and eagle should go. Lighting should be upgraded and enlarged. Maple should move to far left and the ball shrubs around it removed. Drive needs a pressure wash, and the bed between the two garage doors should be removed or planted. Front door will need some help but we can't see it to offer advice right now.

The only thing I don't like is the drive way towards the garage entrance . You should get some large trees on either side and let them blend over the drive way ..or arches or pergolas over the drive way . That would make it look sensational ..and hang the basket ball hoop in the back somewhere in the garden ...your terrace looks nice ..your little garden looks nice ..you leave the shutters or take them away that won't make such a difference ..it's the look from the driveway towards the house ..make that pretty on both sides ..with trees ..or arches ..and you have curb appeal !

We have all kinds of ideas, but some of them may not be within your budget or would be changes that you don't want to make. Are you planning on changing siding, painting, are you re-landscaping, changing garage doors?

The first thing I would do is remove the shutters. After that it more depends on what changes you want to make and your budget.

Paint the clapboard o match the brick and create a strong horizontal line.

Painting the garage door area the same color as the brick will help ground that side of the house and make it look less floaty. Maybe someone will do a mock-up of that for you so you can see what that looks like.

It looks lovely, like other comments I would shift the maple along further and perhaps lighten entrance, maybe a lighter door

Keep the eagle.

Beautiful landscaping, well kept yard! I agree... no shutters. I find the eagle, flag, and red cushions on the front porch furniture distracting.
