Below is a picture of the London Sky Quartz we ordered (top picture), and below is what was sent in it's place. I understand each lot is different, but these aren't even close to what we ordered. It was dishonest of Corian to even send these out.

@Bri Bosh - I hope they see as well. I was told by a large distributor for them that it was this whole batch that look like this, and it's a widespread issue. Buyers beware.

As the article said: “China was producing them (quartz slabs) by hand and no one can copy the way they were making some colors. Some of my cabinet companies want to use these in their remodeled showroom, but I have to tell them that these will not be available.”

Take a deep breath and keep looking. Better to "loose lay" stock laminate countertops rather than be rushed into a decision. You have taken great pains to plan this kitchen, a wait of 8 more weeks is worth it. SHAME on Corian for trying to sell something that's SO totally different than the sample.

I am a fabricator. 1st, be glad this issue was raised BEFORE your tops were made and installed. All of the various quartz OEM's have versions of white quartz so it is very likely there is something out there that you will love just as much. If your fabricator is 1st rate he'll get your tops made within a week or less of when he has material. In a typical fab shop today the actual fab time for 100 sq. ft. kitchen is less than 2 days.

Wow, I could have written this myself...I’m having the exact same issue. We are renovating our kitchen and picked out Corian London Sky for our countertops. I love the subtle veining and movement. I felt like it had the most natural marble look of all the quartz I looked at. Thankfully I asked my fabricator to send me a picture of the slab prior to him cutting. The picture is so very different from what London Sky is supposed to look like - it has diagonal streaks of dark veining that look very unnatural, just like you posted. (See my photo.)

I’m very disappointed. I called Corian headquarters and they told me they’ve been having “issues” with London Sky and I can drive to their warehouse (2 hours away) to look at all the London Sky slabs they currently have to see if I like anything better. So I’m going to do that. And if all of the slabs have this horrible, unnatural veining, then I will have to find something else.

@mikeandlaurenhouse What did you end up doing about your countertops?

Curious what everyone ended up using on their counters? I, too, like London Sky and would either like to see a good alternative or would like to see an example of the current veining installed.

I too am curious to know if these situations have been resolved as we are looking at London Sky

and have already dealt with differences in Zodiaq products. We purchased our home a year ago at it came with Coarse Pepper Zodiaq Quartz. Due to a few demarkations in the stone in the island from the belt used to cut and polish it, it needed to be replaced. We were assured that the new top would match the tops on the perimeter of the kitchen, and when it was installed it did not match. We complained and after some research by our builder, he was told by the local supplier that the manufacturer of Zodiaq moved from China to a Company in Canada and the colors and formulations are just different. After getting samples from our builder of the available options to replace the replacement with, we have decided to go with a contrasting color on the island and love the London Sky sample, but don't like the the examples above the current London Sky product going out.

thanks all for the input on Corian! we are about to pull the trigger on Corian Bianco Dolomite. Anyone have experience with it? It's new. Kind of similar to Névé by Corian. apparently made in China. thanks again!
