Good quality cabinets have 25 years to a lifetime warranty. Cheap imports barely give you enough warranty to make it until the house is sold.

I agree a 5 yr warrant is joke and IMO the name says it all.I would suggest you check out IKea a much better bang for your buck and a decent warranty.

As for white cabinets, yes, they are popular; however, unless you are going to flip a house or move in the next few years, you should get what you like the best. There are plenty of people in this world who like the various shades of wood or cabinets painted blue, red, green, etc. Pick something that you will enjoy for a long time.

I just chose Fabuwood Galaxy Frost for my home renovation. When I looked at and balanced out everything, they seemed like the best “bang for my buck”. What really sold me were the things that come standard on these cabinets - plywood boxes, Blum hardware and dovetail construction - all were costly upgrades in other lines. I think I’ve read every review out there and there were as many positives as there were negatives. In the end, budget being a big consideration as we are doing a major $150k reno, they were the logical choice.

I will say I have chosen a kitchen design firm who has been in business a very long time with an installer who is a former cabinet maker and is extremely particular, as I feel that’s also a big part of how your cabinets/kitchen will ultimately look.

I sell quite a bit of Fabuwood cabinetry and my customers are very happy with their product. A long time ago I use to sell Plain and Fancy ( a custom line ) who only had a 7 year warranty on their cabinets. When I asked why , I was told that any "issues" with wood doors or frames - warping splitting etc would occur within the first 1- 2 years of the kitchen and that these sorts of thing wouldn't show up 10 or 15 years later. It funny to see how now they have a longer warranty.

As far as the blum hardware - it is also warranted directly through Blum - so even if your cabinet warranty runs out, you can still get it replaced.

You also asked about paint chipping - yes it will happen - no matter what company you go with. It depends on how you work in the space.

Don't worry about what style in "in" unless you are flipping the house . Buy what you love....

My contractor, kitchen designer, and cabinet sales guy all like them and use them. I don't have them but Fabuwood has some really pretty designs.

Just put them in my kitchen in linen. They look good. They’re not the equal in looks of the custom cabinets I had in my old house, but they didn’t cost over $20,000 either. My kitchen is fairly small and I paid just under $7,000 with the crown molding and the finished end panels. They look fine and all arrived in good condition. For a meat and potatoes kitchen, I’d say they’re just fine. Look every bit as good as my sister’s Kraftmaid from Lowe’s and arrived in much better condition. Here’s a few pictures; my contractor has not aligned the doors yet.

You've made an excellent decision, Fabuwood are very well made cabinets, sturdy and durable. They will last you for years to come. Our customers in NJ love them.

Buying cabinets on a budget might be one of the hardest things we've ever had to deal with, I understand you want a quality product, but not everyone has $100K to dump in to a kitchen remodel. We have used Fabuwood for several years and really the minor issues that come along with any other brand are resolved fairly quickly. We have also customized them for the clients who want a little more than the standard. Their customer service is excellent. I would recommend them.

Well this is timely. I am investigating replacing my cabinets as well as re-using some. I just had someone who came recommended come to the house this week and fabuwood was one of the lines they carried.

Hi We purchased Fabuwood nexus frost cabinets. They were just delivered. We are installing this weekend. I will post pictures and let you know how it goes. Also if you purchase Fabuwood cabinets make sure they are assembled by the manufacturer and not the dealer.

Not a fan of any import cabinet. Or the logistics and quality control issues that come with them. And that is best case scenario.

Has anyone heard of any issues with onyx frost ? My dealer thinks that nexus is a better build and less problematic cabinet.

Chinese junk is still chinese junk. If you have higher expectations than that, you will choose something else. You don’t get filet mignon for ground round prices.
