Wet saw - dust, clean up, etc.

Wet saw - dust, clean up, etc.

Hi all - having shower stall redone and contractor needed to cut some tile down. He set up with a wet saw in our basements boiler room (the rest of the basement is finished as a playroom and tv room). He definitely did not take proper precautions in terms of making for an easy cleanup. We were left with lots of milky white water on the floor and then noticed a fine white dust almost chalky substance on a lot of things within the boiler room and also outside of it (we store unopened food in boiler room - the packages had this dust on them, as did toys and furniture outside the boiler room). We wet mopped the floors and used Clorox wipes on everything else. I have an air purifier running now. Is it safe for us to be down there now and for my kids to continue using the area as a playroom post cleanup?
Thanks! (I realize my contractor didn’t do the right thing - add it to the list!!)
