I've switched over to All Free & Free since son was dealing with eczema last year.

Cheer powder for dark colors

All Free & Clear powder for whites and heavily soiled jeans

Tide w/ Bleach powder for white

Ariel powder for rugs, dog bedding, sheets

Just picked up a jug of Arm & Hammer Oxi liquid because I had read good things about it. It's a middlin/ mediocre detergent, IMO. Using it for towels, sheets, comforters and lightly soiled stuff.

Persil 2-in-1 liquid, Persil PowerPearls powder (which is discontinued), Cheer powder, Tide HE w/Bleach powder, Biz powder, Snuggle Exhilarations Lavender & Vanilla Orchid softener, and chlorine bleach (either from Walmart or the local grocery's house brand).

Cheer powder for darks and oxydol with biz powder for lights and whites.

Sears Ultra Plus (I have several lifetimes worth), Cheer, Persil Pro Clean, and Bubble Bandit. All of these are Powder.

Cheer powder for darks. Oxydol powder with Biz or Gain powder for the rest. The Oxydol is awesome for sheets and towels.

Tide Original powder. Woolite for Darks for black and navy clothing (used in tepid water not cold). I have some Oxyclean for stains powder that I use occasionally, and Clorox liquid bleach. Maybe a half dryer sheet twice or so in winter (when drying newly washed polar fleece during dry freezing weather)

Seventh Generation free & clear. Thinking about going back to Woolite for Darks for blacks and navy, but dang it's expensive for the amount you get, plus the scent is kind of icky (not horrid but tolerable) - wish they would take the perfume out of this stuff. Can't do Cheer for Darks -- that stuff reeks.

mxk, maybe use less product? I don't have any lingering scents taking things from the dryer with either Tide, or Woolite. Or, set an extra rinse. I buy the Woolite at Costco, they have a $3 off special at regular intervals.

^^ it stinks right out of the bottle. The Woolite barely lingers but the Cheer is really strong and lingers. I don't think I'm using too much, and I do use 2 rinses.

Cheer powder don’t have the strong smell like the liquid does. Actually when it’s all dry there isn’t any lingering scent. Maybe try that??

annettea, did you get tested for propylene glycol? I haven't eliminated that one yet. How did you know you were sensitive to it? Seventh Gen. liquid makes me itch, darn it.

Yes, I had patch testing done for 80 substances, but only reacted to propylene glycol.
