it looks like the ones to sample might be frosty white/ origami /and alabaster..SW.

rather than choose a blue/gray, just shoot for a neutral gray. and stick w/pure white

Oh good! I sampled at least 8 whites before I found the right one for me.

I would stick with one color cabinets or at most a different color for the island.Why make this harder than it has to be. Use pure white for the cabinets and a color from the counter for the island.

a real color for the island as in blue green, or green, or blue would be favorable going forward as opposed to the grays which have had their day. You may actually want to zero in on the general idea you would embrace for the island, as the tone of the perimeter paint could be influenced. the ones I mentioned:origami, alabaster, and frosty white are considered tone neutral .

After sleeping on it, I decided I’d be opening up a whole can of worms if I switched to Frosty White from Pure White, so I’m sticking with pure white on the perimeter. If the island will be my interesting pop, why not use a more blue- grey based paint like SW Argos? I guess I wanted a touch of a beachy feel rather than the typical neutral grey or charcoal that’s frequently used. OR, would it just look more together if I matched the veining as close as possible ?

Alabaster was too warm for the counters I e found- looked a tinge yellow. The Frosty White blends with my counters, but to my eye looks like a very very pale neutral grey. ThenIm faced to picking the island color to go with that...I’d want something deeper , but what undertones?

And going with pure white would make the eventual wall color paint choosing easier. Wouldn’t any shade of grey for the island go with Pure white cabinets?

This is the color I decided on- SW Silverplate.
The tile beneath it will be on my fireplace surround in my FR which is open to kitchen.

What quartz are you using? The end result looks great!
