I like the SW Cashmere. Has a very nice velvety finish.

I also really like the SW Cashmere. I've used Flat for ceilings and Low Lustre elsewhere. It provides a beautiful rich finish. Used Super Paint flat once and found it to be terrible. So chalky, it marked and couldn't be cleaned. Repainted soon after.

Super Paint Flat is chalky because there is chalk in the paint. It's not meant to be washable. Cashmere Flat, Emerald Matte and Duration Matte are washable paints and in order to be washable there has to be some sheen, although it may be very slight. I believe Cashmere and Emerald are a bit less shiny than Duration though.

paintguy22, you are so knowledgeable about paint... I've seen your other comments. Are you a painter as well? I'd just like to know the best way to find a great painter. Last time I needed one, I called the local small lumber supply and asked. They referred me to a painter, who referred me to another painter-- who did a great job. But then I needed a trim painter and he wasn't available... so I hired a painter based on a neighbor's friend's recommendation.

Not a good experience. Just wondered if you had any insights?

@paintguy22: That's exactly the type of info I was looking for. Thanks! Sounds like Cashmere Flat or Emerald Matte is just what I'm looking for. Is the Emerald a superior product? I'm not overly concerned about the price difference since I only need a few gallons.

Yes. Emerald is their top paint.

Related note: We were going to use s/w Nebulous White. The color consultant from s/w said this color would make our food look unappetizing. She suggested s/w On The Rocks, instead. Learn something new every day ...
