This is a great space! You already have so much blue and gray...why don't you brighten things up a bit with a pale yellow, such as Lemonade 2024-60 by Benjamin Moore.

Thank you both for the advice....@mm457 that is the color I was really thinking about....@porterdesigns I thought of the yellow color also and it makes a lot of sense the way you describe the room having so much blue and grey already..... my sister also suggested using yellow because of the amount of blue and black.

@ porterdesigns...I found a color yellow you suggested in BEHR Premium Plus 340....still waiting on my hubby to get the job done. I am so excited to see the finished job, can't wait....I am painting the closet doors in white semi-gloss......

Because of your navy blue upholstery, I'd do a very soft, soft blue in either Benjamin Moore HC-150 Yarmouth Blue or HC-147 Woodlawn Blue.
For a gray I'd try HC-171 Wickham Gray.

Oh and paint out your closet doors a bright white high gloss - same with all trim - either paint the garage door metal high gloss black, or delete it with same high gloss white.

Black, White, Gray/Blue scheme photos attached for your inspiration - good Luck
