My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Window Quotes: Please Help!

Hi All,


I'm looking to replace 4 rectangular windows (currently single-hung), 2 of which have half-circles above them. The current ones are terrible and barely functional - thinking of something that will serve me well for 5-10 years and then serve renters or a buyer well after that.


Here are some quotes I got, including installation:


(Pella: 10.5k - ignoring)

Andersen 100 Series Fibrex (Home Depot): 5.5k

Alside triple pane (contractor): 5k

Soft-Lite Nirvana (Zen): 4.5k

Joyce Nirvana: 4k


What do you think? I'm looking for energy efficiency, durability, and perhaps the ability to say 'Andersen' or 'triple-pane' when I sell/rent the house.

    Which Alside window? Are you sure the Joyce window is called "Nirvana"? I only knew of the Insulator and Heritage that were both solid performers when we used them for a bit.
