Bedding is BEFORE paint selection. Bedding options abound on Pottery Barm Williams Sonoma Home, in Bed Bath and Beyond. Bedding is layers, and in a more updated world, doesn't imply a comforter set, or bed in a bag one stop shopping. Do some visual work is my advice. You haven't even shown the bed itself, or the room in total. Search houzz for BEDRROOMS you love. A room is more than the bed and its linens, but we don't read minds : )

A north-facing room will get less natural light, so the lighting fixtures in the room will be important. A good ceiling fixture can be assisted with bedside lamps or a floor lamp if you have room for a comfortable chair. Choose your bedding before choosing wall color. You may want to pick a patterned fabric for inspiration, and then choose bedding and wall color to coordinate with the fabric. The fabric can be used for an upholstered chair, a fabric runner on the dresser, an accent pillow or two, or drapes.

@JAN MOYER - the house a traditional style. The bedroom has a kid size bed. A double dresser and high piece shown above. There is not space to creating a seating space. We have looked for duvets and comforters at numerous stores and we have fond anything we really like. We don't want floral and I am not one to put many layers and pillows on the bed. We want the room to look pulled together and cohesive. I hope this helpful.

Start collecting some bedroom pics for inspiration and once you figure out what you like and want, then perhaps strangers on the Internet can help you online shop for the elements. Providing pictures of the room with a layout will help the designers here as well.

i like the wall colors but i don't want white bedding.

Also I think the first picture walls might be too dark since this room is north facing.

Unless you use your bedroom a lot in the daytime, I wouldn't worry too much about wall colour being too dark because it's north facing. Get adequate lighting for evening and choose wall colour that coordinates with bedding you love. If you can't decide on bedding and are in a rush to paint the walls, I think a greige will give you more flexibility than sage. Hope that helps.

That will be more difficult , unless you consider sites like Porrery Barn Teen and are willing to put some effort in. Your constraints of no pillows, no this and that ...,.? Same deal.

with all of the bedding ensembles avail to view online, you can't find anything you like?? There must be hundreds.

look through those pics and here on houzz of bedrooms.

Until you find something you like, not a whole lot that we can do.

Those three bedding options are lovely but the Ralph Lauren (first one) doesn't seem available anymore. If you order the others, can they be returned if you don't like them? I'd start with that to give me a direction.

Yes it is the master. I want the paint, bedding and furniture to look like I had a plan. The kids rooms have been updated now it is our turn. It needs to be functional since I do have kids climb in bed in the middle of the night but I also want it to look pulled together.

be careful with picking paints colors that are too blue/gray (cooler tone). you have warmer toned wood floors/furniture. If you want gray, choose warmer grays. although, please pick some bedding first.

consider losing the white blinds and putting in warmer woven woods or a cellular blind.

maybe you want to go w/a soft sage color. the greens would look nice w/the warm wood.

I do want to stay away from gray my first floor and hallway leading upstairs is gray.

Beth H - I like the wall color in the first picture. do you think BM SAYBROOK SAGE (this is one that I picked from paint store) is a good paint color...I'm not good with the figuring out warm and cool shades . I do like prints. I don't like floral.

Not sure why you are after sage walls. when the bedding links you posted are both in the gray family. No I wouldn't mix the two.

You have a north facing bedroom. Get a very light rug on the floor. Paint the darn room a deep navy. Add a duvet. Add shams. A throw. Add lamps at the bedside.

having children and EVEN allowing them cuddle time in your bed, need not mean you decorate it FOR THEM. Sorry, but this is your space, and you either want to make it your own or you don't. But unless you are willing to consider prints and the like? I'd forget about sage. Especially in northern light. : ) Look at your links again. Nice with NAVY. Below

Jan,,,I didn't look at the bedding she posted. I merely suggested a sage wall color because it would work w/the wood tones.

I mentioned something light. light sage. not dreary sage.

Beth - i agree about the bedding. I like Saybrook and I also like the variety of colors it goes with. For winter I use a duvet or down comforter and in the warmer weather I use a coverlet or something light weight. I have found many light weight bedding I like unfortunately I cant say the same for the Duvet.

JAN MOYER - The RL is Brown. The second link was just an example of solid with texture not necessarily that exact duvet. I didn't say I don't like prints I said I don't like floral.
