The second floor included one master bedroom suite (walk in closet, sitting/lounge area, bathroom with steam shower & double sink vanity) along with an additional storage room and spare bedroom. Thanks Ed @ 3-D Contracting Inc.

Thank you! I'm wondering if with that space, 4 bedrooms could have been made instead of 3. I assume the master could have been made smaller to do so? Again, thanks! What was the total square footage added?

We added about 950sf to the 2nd floor + the existing 390sf = 1,340sf total for the combined 2nd floor living space (I forgot to include the 2nd floor also included a new office as well) Yes, you could have made this space into 3-4 bedrooms with an added bathroom but they already had 3 bedrooms on the 1st floor along with 2 1/2 bathrooms. The owners wanted a 2nd floor living quarters! I hope this helped you out!

Yes, thank you so much, we are looking to put a 2nd floor on, adding 4 bedrooms and 2 baths. We are in a ranch now.

I'd say that is about 1 hour & 15 minutes from us correct? We are located in East Hanover, NJ. I would like to see the project (site visit) along with your finished architectural drawings. Keep us posted!

The base contract for the exterior facade, second floor addition & interior renovation work was $350K. Are you looking to do a similiar project? If so, where are you located?

It depends on the the existing square footage of your basement. It's always cheaper to renovate the basement 1st. We've been able to renovate and provide a beautiful finished basement with a recreation/tv room, an additional bedroom or two along with a full bathroom for under $70K. Good luck with you project!!
