Daybed bedding and pillow advice

I'm trying to decide on bedding and pillows for the daybed in my office. The room is primarily my office (I work from home), but it'll also be somewhere for me to curl up and read as well as being a 2nd guest room when we need it.

I already own all the artwork. The carpet (lower right) is being installed tomorrow. Everything else can be adjusted although I really do love the rug and daybed.

I don't know what to use as the daybed cover. I'm considering getting sheets for both the top bed and trundle bed that match the blue cabinet. Thoughts?

Thanks for any advice on pillows and bedding!

My taste might be simpler than yours. I would NOT match the sheets to the blue cabinet because the cabinet is dark, and dark blue sheets would fade every time you wash them. They might match fine until you wash them, and with each successive wash, the match would get worse. I would pick sheets in a light color that is less prone to fading, such as pale gray or pale pink.

I think the pillows are competing with your art. I’d either go solid, or a simple geometric pattern. Use a dark blue pillow to repeat the furniture color.

So funny. I did not see the pillows as competing with the art. I saw them as an extension of the art: part of the grouping.

I have a daybed in my office. I recommend getting bolster cushions. Otherwise, daybeds are weird as all get-out to "sit" on, there is just not enough back support and the angle is weird. Put bolster pillows across the back, then add your throw pillows.

Edited to ad that they make tubular bolster cushions which would probably be better with your style of day bed.

I just ordered 27" square pillow forms. When I find the fabric to make the mattress cover, I'll make big pillow covers for those--and that'll make it not seem as deep. They were on sale for $9 each at Joann's. :-)

I'm going to wait until the furniture is here before deciding on pillows so I can judge whether more color would pull things together or if it would be "too much". I put the blue cabinet together yesterday, the mattresses are decompressing, and the run is still rolled up. The daybed should arrive on Wednesday.

I'm pretty excited.

I ordered pale pink sheets and blankets. Colors look similar on the monitor, but of course, that's deceiving. However, the sheets and blankets will mostly be hidden so it won't matter that they're not exact--the intent is that they'll not stand out.
