I'm anxiously waiting for the blood oranges to show up in the grocery stores. They are my fav but my tree is still too small to make as many as I want. I usually buy 4 or 5 bags every year lol.

Yes! My Ponkan tangerines are ripe and ready, but if I leave them on the tree a bit longer, the skins get bigger, so they're easier to peel.

Pea, you're in St. Pete right? Do your tangerines color up well here in this zone ? Mine don't at all. I have to feel the fruit to know when they're ripe. Also sounds like your trees are very productive. How are you managing citrus greening? All the trees I see around the county look half dead.

My Ponkan is struggling with greening and I'm not sure how much longer it can survive. The fruit, while still sweet and virtually seedless, is so much smaller this year, it looks like clementines. Normally, the tangerines would be quite large.

I did release the wasps I got from ag program, but I sadly dropped the vial as I was releasing them and don't know if any of them made it into the tree.

No i'm down here in Charlotte County so about an hour plus south of you. This year isn't the best fruit qualitywise, they seem a bit dry which is weird seeing all the water we got this year. Here are a couple photos:

Pea, oh wow nice! They color up well for you and look productive. Mine only ever become yellowish green. I thought it was because I needed more frequent cool nights to get that bright orange coloring that most people are accustomed to.

Carolb, maybe it's you that I'm thinking of then. I saw a large pomelo tree in an alleyway here that was loaded with fruit recently and only the calamondins I see around look fine. They may have come up from seed though. The seed grown citrus in my yard look comparatively healthy from the cloned/grafted varieties that I have.

That particular tangerine was dug up from one of my dad's properties and planted in the yard about 10 years ago. The tree is the only tangerine that has thorns i have come across. I have no idea what kind it is but it was to replace a dying tangerine that had been planted in the yard back in the 70's that was and still dying 10 years later...old age i guess but that old tree is hanging on to life tooth an nail and has produced very small fruit this year but its heart is dying so not many more years left but its a 44 year old tree.

For those of you who are fighting citrus greening. I know something that helps the trees fight it it is not 100 persent but I have seen some tree that were almost dead start growing and seem to recover. It simple to make it is just seaweed and fish emulsion you can get the concentrate at any garden store mix the two water down as bottles say and use as a spray on leaves once a month.
