Sorry, this is so long. TLDR: Been watching for signs of life from frozen plants, and only a few seem to have died completely. Sadly, my dragon fruit and my bleeding heart vine may be two that don't come back. We'll see.

I've been looking every day to see what survived the 24 degree freeze here in N. Central FL. Some things are coming back, some aren't, but it gives me a chance to plant more cold hardy plants, or just annuals so I don't have to worry about them dying.

My beautiful big dragon fruit is a goner. Only ever got one fruit from it. Last year, the top died back and it came back out from the part growing up the wall, but not this time. It seems like it's just gone. I got cuttings, but I don't think I want to replant. Waiting 6 years to get fruit, then having it die is just too much for me.

My two pepper plants survived, and the mini bell looks like it's going to be bushy, but the red bell only has growth on the top. All the side branches fell off, and I'm scared to try to cut it way back, but I might try and just buy another one to plant just in case.

Remarkably, the eggplant that never bore a thing last year and was not covered this winter, is coming back from the very bottom. I also found two cuttings I had haphazardly stuck into a pot last year that survived the freeze, so I may have three plants this year.

I was sure the longevity spinach was dead, but a few limbs that had rooted into the ground and gotten buried under leaves survived and have several sprouts coming up. I also salvaged some tip cuttings that are doing well.

I'm praying my gorgeous bleeding heart vine will come back up from the roots. It was so gorgeous last year, and it will take years to get back to what it was, but I still don't want it to be gone. That's the one thing I didn't take cuttings of, even though I thought of it a lot. Stupid me.

Surprisingly, the oyster plant border on one bed is coming back, just being covered by leaves. I thought for sure it was a goner this time,but those things are tough as nails.

My big petticoat fern is sending up a few shoots. I was sure it was dead to the world, but it's tough. I also have some babies I might make baskets out of.

Only a couple of sprigs of my green and purple wandering jew baskets survived, but they grow so fast, I'll have more big baskets by the end of the summer.

My orchid cactus died, but a few pieces remained on it, which I harvested to root. Then I found one that was in a pot full of leaves that was doing fine. I'm not going to regrow that one. I'll just give the cuttings away.

By the grace of God, my neo Fireball brom got badly burned, but is coming back. All the other broms were brought inside, so they're all fine.

Sadly, my large tropical hibiscus only has one tiny little piece of green coming up, but I'm hopeful, because the last time it froze to the ground, it came back when it warmed up more.

Not sure my pink brug in its pot survived, but it may come back from the roots. I did get a cutting from it that rooted, so I have at least one.
