Wall mirror over console table

Hello! I just placed this mirror above my console table and it seems to have been placed too high. I think they don’t connect together as one piece. If anyone has any advice on how to fix this, please let me know! Thank you!

Its sort of small, and not a lot of colour, so my eye actually goes to the box above it on the wall. You need something more bold, and larger, otherwise whatever that box is (maybe the doorbell case?) seems to get equal attention.

    I think it's too small.

Yah, I think it’s too small too. Do you think a larger rectangular one would look better? As for color, I just placed whatever decorative items I had at the moment. This is in the living room and I will buy a new sofa set. Whatever color I will be using for the sofas is what I will be using for this table. I have plans of adding lots of colorful pieces then.

I think a larger rectangle would work well. If you're adding colorful objects to the console, just be careful it doesn't get too cluttered. A few larger objects will look better than lots of little ones.

Thank you Olychick! I was wondering how this mirror would look like. What do you think? It’s 29.5 inches whereas the round mirror that I have on the wall is 23.5 inches.

How wide is the console table?

Length of the console table is 39.25 inches

In case anyone wants a second pic of what it looks like from the front in daylight, here it is.

Just my personal thoughts. A mirror on any wall that you can't see your face in doesn't make sense. Mirrors and art should be placed at eye level. This looks too low to do that just relating to the light switch. I would look for a tall rectangular one.

Cheryl, it is at eye level though. I can see my shoulder and head lol and I am 5’ 4”. How about the square mirror I showed above? Will that look better?

The problem I see with the newer one posted is that it kind of "matches" the sides of your table, making it look a bit too much like a "set". I think you can do better. The round one you have is a nice contrast on the finish and looks good with your wall color, but is just too small.

I don't have much time tonight to look for examples, but did find this. It's not a mirror, but I though the proportion and way it's hung looks good with a table similar to yours. Maybe others can help with examples; I'll try to look later tonight or in the morning.

I think this mirror could be a solution for your table.

@BeverlyFraDenizer That mirror is nice. Where’s it from? And the price? I have a budget actually.

You can find it at HomeGoods. Maybe Kirklands

I was wondering something. How do people purchase furniture from HomeGoods and take them home? Do they deliver furniture?

I think most of their stuff is small enough that people fit it in pick-ups or SUV's.

But I did find this online: HomeGoods customers can get furniture and other large items delivered the same day. GoShare will send 1 or 2 delivery professionals with a truck or cargo van to help you load, deliver and unload your HomeGoods purchases. You can schedule your HomeGoods delivery in advance or on demand.

    Thank you Beverly and Olychick!

Olychick, I’m not sure but I think that app for homegoods charges for furniture delivery, don’t they? Also, please provide some more pics of what kind of mirror you were suggesting.

Beverly, do you know the price of that homegoods mirror you suggested? Other than homegoods, where can I find mirrors at reasonable price?
Also, can you guys suggest rooms or walls where I can utilize this small mirror instead?

Will the small mirror that I used for the previous console table look good on this wall? As you can see, even though this wall is big, there are 2 electric sockets and a vent above that can prevent a larger mirror/art to be placed. If that small mirror is still too small for this space, what shaped mirror will good? Or probably a wall art will look better? Will really appreciate to hear your thoughts on this overall wall and decor tips! Thank you!

I think it would work there much better

I think homegoods charges for delivery; seems like maybe they have a contract with a delivery service or something.

Look at Pier One, World Market, even Lowes or Home Depot for inexpensive mirrors.

My position is that contractors/workers/ builders ought to be punished for walls like that with all those switches/vents. Didn't intake vents used to be in the ceilings? Not pretty but at least they didn't interfere with hanging pictures!

Honestly, if that were my wall, I'd get a tall piece of furniture that would detract from all the utilities, like a bookcase or something with an open bottom like your table is now, with an upper unit with shelves. I'd put it a couple inches away from the wall to allow air to the intake...and I wouldn't care if people told me it would affect air flow - I don't think it would as long as the whole thing wasn't blocked.

But if that wouldn't work for you, what about some floating shelves above the table instead of a mirror or art? I think placement of one piece is going to be problematic with all the offset utility things.

Olychick, I know, right? I hate that they place vents on such walls in the rooms which you could have used for furniture placement. My parents place have vents on ceilings only and I love it! Here is another picture where there’s a vent in my dining room. My baby was on the high chair, hence the weird black editing. Now this is a vent where I’m not allowed to place any furniture. What can I do with this place?

Is that a heater vent blowing heat, or an intake just sucking cold air? If it's not blowing heat, I'd place a piece of furniture there, just not right up tight against it. I don't understand the advice to not place anything in front of an intake vent. As long as it's not right against the vent, it won't affect air intake. That's like saying you're going to smother yourself if you hold your hand 4" in front of your face. The air is not blocked as long as there is room for it to flow behind the furniture.
