The TREE should be in the corner, table and mirror GONE. Move the cabinet a bit right. Nativity to another spot elsewhere, and a soon trip to the PAINT store for a one color wall. Be an angel and do that. All of it. Please.

You obviously like a more busy look, but still you can improve on what you have.

Remove the clock from above the angels. Leave the angels where they are, and set up the nativity scene on the table. Hang the other 3 stockings around the table where you have the one stocking now, and move the garland from the mirror to the metal work where the stockings are hung.

Remove the garland from around the mirror. I'm sorry to say it, but it doesn't enhance your tree which should be the star. You could *try* using it as a garland on the tree, tucking it back at least halfway into the branches and weaving it down from top to bottom. If it isn't long enough, a trick my mom used was to wind it back and forth from the left side back to the right side back, never covering the back 25% of the tree that is next to the wall.

Add a pretty white floor-length cloth to the table. It could be shot with gold and/or silver, or lightly patterned with red and/or turquoise-teal. Use fleecy white cloth similar to your tree skirt to create "snow" on the table top and put the Nativity there.

Now group the angels in clusters of three or at most five but always an odd number. Pair them by size and consider propping smaller ones on a box or block. You can gift wrap a block of wood in very subtle paper that matches the cloth you choose for the table, or use the same fabric to drape over the boxes/blocks. Even a stack of books will do! Pull everything forward as much as possible for good visibility. Leave a bit of breathing room between each grouping.

For the stockings, is there a different spot they could hang? Command hooks work great and don't damage walls. Or again, a trick from my mom since she doesn't have a mantle: she lays the stockings under the tree on the tree skirt. You can lightly stuff them with newspaper or tissue to pad them out!

Enjoy the blessings of the season, in the end it's not the perfect decor that makes Christmas so magical is it?

This is my home. very character home. unique design, from all hand painted. design on a dime . just wanted input, on my focal wall with the cabinet, tree .. and to fill the area symmetry.

Symmetry is overrated. I'd have the tree where it is, move the cabinet to the left and eliminate all the other stuff. Nice things need elbow room.

It looks better without the stockings on the cabinet. I still think the angels are squashed together, and that they would be more beautiful if you could see them properly. I'd put the manger scene elsewhere and remove the clock, the garland around the mirror, the footstool and the star on the sconce.

My mother's house is not cluttered with decor items year round, but at Christmas it all comes out. Why have one when 5 will be even better? in terms of decor and design, there's too much going on for a conventionally attractive arrangement. But if she likes it better that way, why not.

Cut tree smaller and put on round table with angels beneath it remember if you put to much up you can't enjoy it it gets to busy

Do you have any more green garland? You can wrap it around the bed frame.

The area in question looks like a walk way and you seem to have bit much going on. Your eyes don't have anywhere to rest or appreciate any of the items. Everything is the same height, different levels is better. The only thing I would leave along that wall would be your lovely cabinet. Maybe the angel collection could go inside of it for the season. Manger scene on top? Other items elsewhere. I would want my tree in a corner or in front of a window in another part of the room, making it its own focal point.

The bed frame is good, but be sure it is flat against the wall, not leaning on the table. Stockings look good there on the bed frame also.

I like your cabinet, but not the mess on it. Here is an idea how to decorate it stylish.

I really like the bedframe idea! Good thinking! It's common to have stockings hung on the bedpost so the connection makes a lot of sense and yet it is a super unique application :-) Maybe you should turn it around so the brackets are toward the wall for a more finished look.

Decorating on a dime is the most fun way to do it in my opinion. But then again, I have never had unlimited resources to buy whatever would look beautiful in my home. I would imagine that must be pretty fun too LOL!

In keeping with your aesthetic..I think the cabinet would add to the uniqueness of your home if you painted it....in white it would tie in to kitchen cabinet color/ contrast... or in multi- colors it would look more interesting and would blend better with the wall colors...as is ...it seems dark next to all the bright colors...

At the least I would paint the interior of the cabinet a light color so the things inside can be seen easier...spray paint is an cheap...easy option for doing this....

thank you all for your amazing input and ideas. our home is situated in northern Canada in Yukon Territory, we are some what an isolated area Where we collect northern allowance annually.
unfortunately the cabinet is part of a 9 piece antique famiky heirloom so I will not be able to paint it. I can put some white Mac tac or something on the backs inside the cabinet though, that's a great idea to lighten up that space.

Instead of Mactac (which might damage the wood with its sticky backing) you can cut a piece of foam board or stiff cardboard to fit the space, then cover it with some nice paper or fabric. Then just press it into place.

The bed frame is a very creative use. Can you hang it on the wall? Leaning as it does makes it look unbalanced.

And try taking the garland off the mirror and draping it on the frame as you might a mantle.
