I would say yes, except you could pull it off with furniture in the right scale.

Not as long as it melds well w/the look of your furniture and is appropriate for the size of the room.

The too-high art and the overwhelming fireplace/chimney should be more of a concern.

The overwrought fireplace, torch lamp, and art are a far bigger issue. Paint the table black, perhaps and then worry about the rest...........sayonara to that fireplace : )

It doesn't look like a classic Ming table to me. They are usually dark wood, have slightly curved in legs, and don't have glass inserts.

Along the way, in the 20th century someone decided that a glass top would be nice, and straightened out the legs. And changed the look from classic to not-classic.

Rather than ask if the table is "dated" ask if is good quality, does it work in your room, and do you like it. If the answer is "yes" then keep it. If "no," then replace it with something else.

The color is a bit matchy matchy with the sofa. Would you consider removing the finish and staining it darker? I think that would look great.

The question really is whether you like it. If you like it then it doesn't matter if it's dated or not and if you don't then you should get something else. Unless you are planning on getting new furniture every few years things will eventually look dated but if you like it then it doesn't matter. Your house isn't an advertisement for interior design, it's just the place that should make you happy.

That bowl on table would look nice on mantle standing upright after Christmas and that table is great don't get rid of a classic

I would agree that this is not dated at all. This is a classic look and looks like it fits your space very well. This is a good quality piece.

I don’t mind the shape of it but think the glass insert makes it look dated. If it were mine I might want to replace the glass with a solid piece of something more interesting such as distressed wood.
