Harvesting times are different and depends on the variety which you don't mention. Don't go by color as that is not the way to determine ripeness with mandarins or oranges. I tasted a Sumo yesterday and it was the right color but very sour. I think it needs another month. lol. My mandarins were also the right color but they needed some cool temps to sweeten them. I gave them another 2 weeks and they had sweetened up some.

Lorraine; Nice to hear from you. You trees look nice. All the fruit I grow can be picked earlly and taste good so I can't help you here.

I have picked 1 Meiwa fruit at 3/4 ripe and it had a good sweet to mild acid balance. I have 1 more that I will pick when it is fully ripe. I will compare that to a fully ripe Meiwa fruit from a seed grown tree to compare the 2. I may approach graft the seed grown Meiwa to a Flying dragon seedling that is now 2 inches tall if the fruit lacks flavor.

Hi. You were right it is a pink grapefruit. The orange I don’t know. I trimmed the tree because of space and it’s in a pot. Be cause I don’t have space to plant it or a larger pot at this type me I hope I will be able to get more fruit. I want to keep it at a height that I can control and reach.

Are the trees grafted/cuttings or are they seed grown? Research node count. Trimming the tree can reduce your node count which in turn will not allow it to flower.
