So much depends on the style of the rest of the room and the house - doors don't exist in a vacuum.

Keep in mind that some of these can be noisy, barn doors in particular (people will say you can use nylon rollers to cut the noise, but I am sorry, they will still be noisy). You also need a significant amount of empty wall space for the barn door. Pocket doors are good if the installation is precise and you don't have wild swings in humidity between winter and summer. If you have faith in your contractor on their abilities to do a precise installation, and you have the space for the pocket, they can be good in a kitchen. Accordion doors are the quietest to open and close (WD-40 on the hinges now and again), but are not the prettiest. They all have their pros and cons. For your kitchen, do you need doors at all? What do these kitchen doors lead to? Why not just a regular door??

For the nursery, just use a normal door. Any of the other options are noisy, which is the last thing I would want for a nursery. Aah, baby is sleeping. Let’s tiptoe out of the room. And then just slide my huge rattling barn door that’s not on a freaking barn and just <WAAAAAAA> Baby’s awake.

When you say “accordion,” do you really mean bi-fold? And are these for passageways or for pantries?
