The layout you have looks fine to me.

Or are you planning to turn the bed into a double now? If so, I think your only option is to take out the chair, push the bed all the way into the corner on the same wall where it is now, and put the dresser next to the bed.

I would keep the rocking chair and get rid of the adult sized one now that he is older story time can be done with him in bed. I would place the bed under the window against the wall since he will be the only one in the bed yo don’t need access from both sides. Do a different window covering with no cords, get some better storage for toys I actually find in the closet works for toys since there is no need for big amounts of hanging space right now.

I think most people believe the head of the bed should be on the same wall as the window.

That's because with the head of the bed on the window wall and the dresser on the other wall, your little guy will have a long narrow 3'6" walkway in which to play. Not so fun for him and not so fun for you if you need to get to the dresser or bed while he's playing (I know this from experience with my kids).

By putting the length of the bed back against the window wall and the dresser next to the bed, you leave a nice big open square in the middle of the room for him to play. You also condense all his clothes on one side of the room. Easier for you to put away laundry and for him to get dressed all by himself.
