Will guests be entering through the front door? Or family through the garage door? Or both?

Omgosh! The color palette looks just like one I am struggling with! I just posted for decor advice. I hope you get some good suggestions. (Clearly I have none to offer!)

Actually I do have advice, make it a sitting area for reading a book or enjoying a cup of coffee. Lots of windows would be nice to look out and leave in natural light for a warm cozy feeling.

Guests will come in the front door most often. My husband and I will come in through garage door.

Nice house! I'd put a couch in front of the windows with end tables and lamps on each side. Add an armchair near the garage door. You will need a big rug and definitely a coffee table. It will be very cozy.

I would also paint ALL of those roooms the same color...you want to get rid of the green and that other color...your house will seem huge and flow better if you make it all the same or similar color.

I figured I'd need to paint eventually, but I'm trying so hard to put it off. I painted our current house less than three years ago (the third house I've painted ) and I dread painting another.

What type of couch/ chairs should I put in there? I worry about blocking the windows since they are so low. I was afraid it'd look funny.

I like the idea of two chairs either angel towards each other with a table in between or to really open up the window view the could face each other with a table right in front of each other. I would also put some kind of storage bench/coat rack against the door to the left of the dark brown door.

Love the ideas! It might not fit a whole lot, though so I might have to skip the desk. Here's another angle. Im at the mercy of realty photos, sorry! In this one you can see the depth of the room better because you can see the half wall leading into the dining/ kitchen area in the foreground.

Hmm . . . that is a little narrower than I envisioned :) You could forego the chair floating in the middle of the room and the coffee table that I put in the drawing. I would look at condo-type furniture, which will be on a smaller scale. You might be able to tweak out a desk.

Those are lovely low windows. I'd do the two chairs angled toward each other, rather than a couch/loveseat. Two chairs wouldn't seem to block the windows as much as one solid long piece.

I'm not digging the brilliant green floor, though. Maybe it's better in real life.

What about a low storage bench along the wall? Not sure how practical those are for actual seating though.

Since your front door opens to this room, it is your living room/entryway/waiting area for guests. Ideally, it would have some nice furniture and look pretty for visitors. Redo the flooring. Paint the interior doors. Add two small armchairs angled towards each other, a small table in between, a floor lamp, and a rug. I like the idea of a small and neatly organized mud room area near the garage door, maybe with a long bench for more seating.

Would it be better to place two chairs (angled towards each other) facing more towards the windows like you sit and look outside? Or should they be facing more towards the inside of the house?

Facing in towards the house, like a place where two people can sit, chat, have coffee together for an hour.
