I have had success with t bud, whip, and saddle grafts. I will be trying cleft grafts this spring. I have found that with citrus, many methods work, but its the environment that is key ( temp, timing, moisture etc)

If you are working with large buds then T-Budding is the best. If you are working with small bud I use side grafts.

T-bud graft, cleft graft and chip bud grafting for me.

I have been using cleft grafts since beginning with the whole practice of grafting less than a year ago, and have had good success with it. I also like how you can start with a whole scion twig and thus be theoretically further along with the new plant than with grafting a single bud.

I’ve had success only with cleft, but I have very limited experience.

I have best luck with T-bud grafting. Key is to make sure the graft is very snug to the rootstock and completely covered with grafting tape to prevent drying out.
