thanks!!

IMO a good sized hand held mirror with a stand is the best option for makeup instead of trying to put a mirror on the wall for that because you just can't get close enough due to the cabinets.

I didn’t have room either so put a wall LED mirror with extension arm, works well! https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillows/hd0/hackler-glam-led-makeup-wall-mirror-l41-k~trpt4031.html?refid=GX217660760345-TRPT4031&device=t&ptid=409937767415&network=g&targetid=aud-352581795526pla-409937767415&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=39815198&gclid=Cj0KCQiApbzhBRDKARIsAIvZue8RKAgLDHn183av5pE2pvVUcVdR4uCiRwH7p0nsG_LCMp_RNYZIakkaAjqjEALw_wcB

Second hand held. I can’t see putting screws in my walls for things that are going to wear out and get dirty. Of course, if you spend a lot of time putting on cosmetics a proper sit at vanity for the purpose should be a priority.

I don't mind screws into the wall....

I installed something like this in my master. I cannot live without it. AND, I have even caught my DH using it!

How do you actually groom yourself?

Are you sitting down or standing up?

In my experience, it is quite uncomfortable to use a wall mirror for any kind of "close up" work. It is good only to get a long view - i.e. good for drying hair but not eye makeup.

I have always sat while doing extensive grooming as it's more comfortable. A mirror on the table works well - you can google makeup mirrors as they come in all sizes as well has different kinds of lighting. Magnification IMO is critical.

Or as posted above, there are very attractive extension mirrors that mount on the side wall which are very functional. Mirrors don't tend to wear out and if necessary it's pretty easy to have the same foot print for mounting screws

If all you want is to check the back of your head, the old fashioned large hand held mirror works fine.

With this triple LED Mirror with pivoting side panels you can see the back of your head by just turning one of the panels. Unfortunately it only comes in 34" and 40" widths. Now it is also available with Amazon Alexa built in.

I did the same as Karen Rose, but it’s mounted on the side wall since the wall in front is the old builder special huge mirror with no room for anything else. It works great and I am able to pull it out and pivot it to see the back of my head when styling my hair. I think mine has 10x magnification so it’s great for eyebrow grooming, even while standing up since we don’t have a spot for sitting to apply makeup and/or do hair.
