I would leave it as is personally.

If you like mushrooms and/or things that are high maintenance, leave it as it is.

What does the overall design demand? Surely you planned the whole before you started, and are not just making it up as you go along? That much natural pinkish and rustic wood is a BIG Statement. So is the pattern of that many horizontal lines when painted. If neither major statement supports the design of the whole, or clashes badly, then what? Take it all down?

It seems a bit overwhelming but it could just be the close-up.

Do you plan to put anything on it?

I would be inclined to paint it white or alternate light color. It seems dark even with all that light spilling in.

You have options to retain the wood look. They are going to change the color by darkening it. I'd try several different finishes on test boards to see how each would look in the space. I'd go a long way not to paint that wood in my space. Oil and wax finishes for wood floors should be adequate for protection. Or another matte wood floor finish.
