I dont hear concerns about too much wood too frequently! But if you need to dial it down, take a look at whats going on in tile. Im inspired every day. But it can get pricy. If cost is a concern, think about painting your hardwood floors. A high gloss paint can give a surprisingly contemporary and clean result. Just make sure you seal it thoroughly w several coats. Added benefit: its just paint. If yo tire of it in a few years, you can sand it back down.
