Design Dilemma Paint

Help with flooring

I would like to change our flooring. Our cabinets and trim throughout the house are honey oak. What do I change? Paint the cabinets? Or pick a flooring complimentary to the existing wood? I also have the railing dividing the kitchen and family room. All oak throughout open floor plan. Do not want different trim from room to room. Any suggestions?

There are allot of different shades of brown going on in your home. I notice your counter tops are charcoal or black. I would suggest painting your cabinetry a classic white (Chantilly Lace), or a light grey. You could contrast this with a light wash grey vinyl flooring. The railings could compliment this colour scheme painting it white with a charcoal stain.
