So I can't keep curtains in this window because my dogs ruin them. They hang out in that window and watch the world go by and get the curtains so dirty. I washed them and the curtain shrunk about 2 inches shorter than the lining and now they are all wonky - and dirty again. But I also can't put 2 inch blinds in there because the chair rail gets in the way. I noticed a friend had this same chair rail and they had cut the chair rail about an inch into the window. (Instead of going all the way to the glass, the chair rail abruptly ended about 2 inches away). Looked really stupid. Any suggestions - short of getting rid of my very loved pets?
