It depends on the rest of your entry and how tall your door is. Playing with some balloons and cardboard can give you a great idea what is too small, where the actual bulb will cast its lighting and how it fits in scale with the rest of your house. I'm just saying this because I have a vaulted entry which would require a different set up above my 36" wide door.
