A standards bedroom door is generally 28-30" wide so two 14" or 15" doors that meet in the middle and latch. If the swing is an issue, they could even swing out rather than into the bedroom.

I am NOT a fan of folding or accordion doors myself but I understand that they have their place in this world.

There is hardware available for french style doors so that they can be locked as well.
