I’ve been doing a lot of reading since posting. Maybe a hickory rustic vinyl plank? Teak Vinyl plank?

Full disclosure... I'm not a decorator but what about something that pulls the lighter elements out of the countertop?

We did try a Coventry oak because of the gray color in it and the lighter gray in the countertop but I’m not sure it works well with the oak vanity color.

you have a warm, yellow toned cabinet, and are pairing it with a cool, blue/gray countertop. The more blue/grays you add, the more it will clash. (why didn't you get a pre-fab granite top instead of the laminate? you could have gotten something in stone for less than 400 bucks, installed)

coventry gray has the wrong undertones for that oak cab. you need something warmer, but not too warm/yellow or else it will clash w/your countertop.

go for some of the warmer grays or creamy ivory tones. Or try dark and use Kendall Charcoal or Chelsea Gray.

Look for this gray color for your flooring. Or do a soft black.

Thanks Beth. As far as the countertop, our vanity has some unusual configurations and so a prefab would not work. We tried. i tried to brighten up the area since the walls were darker than I imagined. Thanks for color options. I am terrible with colors! I’m more the worker than the chooser. I’ll check those for sure!

go with more of a neutral charcoal. and you really don't want a flooring w/movement, since your countertop is so busy. look for something in a large vinyl rectangle or hex in a solid color. that will be your best bet. like this

you will have to bring home samples and take pics w/your lighting.

any chance you can do tile? 10-14" tiles could be laid down over what you have

Maybe stain It? But will The trim be okay with the stained vanity. The window is also wood

BeTh, thank you for all the color suggestions. I like the charcoal color! I’m going to see what I can find for sample and check that! I’m sure I’ll have to ask opions! The cream tile is nice too. So are you saying that the distressed floor shows movement with the grains in it? But the swirls are ok?

If the swirls are in the same color, it would be better than the multi color, busy looking tile. You want something way less busy than your countertop. That's why I like that charcoal example.
An the LVP posted directly above? No. wrong color for your countertop and too busy looking.
