well it is young and it doesn't look like it's been grown hung upright so i think the important thing is when you put it one way you keep it that way

I would hang it whichever way the fronds tend to hang downwards. The hoods will grow all around the plant's base after the plant orients itself to its new position. Having said that, it will be easier to attach the plant firmly if you can mount it with the hood below rather than above because you'll have that hood to support the plant.

My "bullwinkle" as we call it came planted in a pot too years ago and that's what I did.
