What can I do to finish this room

Looking for some Pro advice here. Wondering what I can do as far as decor in this room? What to put on the Fireplace mantle? Side table behind the 2 arm chairs, what should go there? Any ideas for this room will help. Would a sofa table be nice behind the large sofa by the window? There is space for a narrow one?

I'm no pro, but I honestly think the rooms looks great as is! If you were to put a sofa table behind the sofa you would probably want to remove the black table under the mirror so it won't be so crowded.

Overall, I love the feel of your room! My main tip is to add some pictures of your with your family or friends to make the space even cozier :)

Also, the placement of your furniture seems a bit difficult for me... In the couch or arm chairs, you have to turn you head quite a bit to watch the TV... I would normally say to turn the couch so that it faces the TV, however then you would be blocking the space from the bar stools.... Hmmmm.... Something to think about.

On the table behind the chairs you mentioned, I feel like you should maybe add a floral arrangement for some color. Also maybe a lamp and candle. I hope all this helps!!

Yes. I wish I could put the 2 chairs facing the TV I tried but it would be cramed. Do you think a 20" lamp would be ok there. That's all the space I have because of the shelving above that.

Diane, what type of coffee table can I put there? The reason I put that bench is so my kids or guests can out their feet up. Otherwise it ends up on the coffee table.

But I can try something new. Would a nice farmhouse coffee table suit the room? It feels so squished to me already because it is a smaller room. Would a glass table look good? My only problem with glass is the kids.....

Thanks for your ideas. Let me know what you suggest. :))

I'd suggest something either round or square to replace the two ottomans you have now. Something like these, placed about 18"-22" in front of the sofa:

Safavieh Clark Cocktail Tufted Ottoman, Mushroom Taupe · More Info

    Sophie Ottoman · More Info

Or like these round ones I used in 2 of my clients' living rooms:

Suburban Living Room · More Info

Refreshing a suburban home · More Info

Just make sure you measure first before you buy.

Try putting a lamp on the table between the 2 chairs as you mentioned. Is there a place to plug it in? I realized you don't have any lamps, is that right? Do you ever turn on the sconces on the FP wall? What is that on the left side of the mantel? It looks like books turned with their spines out. Please don't do that. A book isn't a book if you can't see the title. If you don't want the color of the spines, then put something else there.
