I don't think $2.50 a bud is expensive at all. Getting a specific variety, especially one that nurseries commonly do not offer, seems to me to be a good deal. As always, if one thinks two dollars and fifty cents is over priced, then simply don't buy them.

Perhaps, but a new Texas law is making them the only legal source of bud wood for all citrus growers in Texas.

I am with you. I think it is expensive. I would expect a basic handling charge and then shipping out stick for more like $050 a bud. But with my grafting skills leaving me at about a 1.5% success rate that would leave me a $166.00 tree. Just my opinion

I am completely willing to pay that for virus free budwood, considering how much the HLB virus affects the citrus industry. I guess I just need to view grafting citrus as more of an investment considering that a healthy tree will produce a lot of fruit over its life! I was just curious because I think someone said the CCPP only charges around $0.75 per bud, but I am not sure on updated prices.
