The bath may look a bit somber. More photo's would help.

You have colors to start with, but it is really important to put the right colors with your black & blue! I think all you need is a color plan to give you guidance. I created an app called Color911. It provides color inspiration in many ways. You can create your own color palettes, take a photo of what inspires you and pull colors from it, or what I think would help you the most is using the pre made color themes. In the app are many themes of colors that work together beautifully. I chose a color theme that I think would go really well with your tile colors. There are many that would work this is just one sample ( screen shot for the Color911 app). I hope it inspires you!

Maybe Amy could use the app and answer your question with some actual color choices.

I agree with Genevieve. You have plenty of color with your tile (which is great). I'd choose a crisp white. The wallpaper idea is good too. I like the "Ropes" choice of wallpaper.

I would go with your original grey tones. Before I even read your comment, I saw grey as a nice compliment for that tile.

What colour is that blue and do you have any spare tiles??

Thank you so much for this, @AmyWax! I will head over to your app for my own project. I bought a 1956 Ranch that needs sprucing up badly. I have a turquoise/Black/white and also a pink/black/white bathroom. I want to keep that tile and also keep the knotty pine tongue and groove paneling on the family room walls (though the knotty pine kitchen cabinets have to go)! I’m trying to find a paint color scheme to pull everything together, modernize it some, but maintain the home’s character so as not to look like every other remodeled grey or white kitchen I see in magazines nowadays. Thanks again... I’m going to go check out color911 for help!

As for that bathroom? Definitely a mostly white background, delicately printed wallpaper with grey and turquoise print or teeny vertical vine pattern to break up/soften all the sharp right angles of the tile. I saw a perfect one for my bathroom a couple years ago but didn’t save it :(

i think black grout would enhance the graphical nature of the tile. and love the wallpaper idea, but not very practical for a wet bath. also this is from 2013 lol... how about an update pic?

Comments jumped from 2013 to current dates. I would be interested in seeing the bathroom as it is now if the owner from 2013 still lives there.
