I see your dilemma, I like them both!

If it were me, I'd go white. White is always right, as they say.

Lots of older homes here in Waco, Castle Heights, are changing paint color from white to the darker color. When they are being painted I would think, "that's to bad they really looked nice white". Then when they're finished painting to the darker grayish color, I think "wow, it looks really nice now".....I voted "dark with white trim".

I love both too but I'm wondering if the black would attract too much heat in the summer. How is the summer heat in the part of Texas you are in? My assumption is blazing...

white, no accent colors, there again, we live in a dusty area (lots of wind) in texas and the sides against the prevailing winds sometimes gets mold) so i sometimes wish for a darker color....then i visualize what our grandparents (both dh and I) and their homes were all white

You do not want a dark house in the hot summers of Texas.
