How to build these shelves?

The shelving in this kitchen is beautiful! My husband and I are trying to get our builder to create something like this for our bar area. How are the middle shelves attached?

These shelves were customs fabricated as a collaboration between the client, our metal worker and the cabinet maker. The middle shelf has hidden support stops underneath them within the metal. They also incorporated electrical within a number of the posts to be able to run LED tape lighting recessed into the bottom of each shelf.
