This worries me a little. We are getting ready to pull the trigger on a bluestar range and hood. Which hood model are you having issues with? I'm thinking we would go with the 36 inch incline hood.

I am sorry, can you explain further? A 1/16" difference is making it not fit the space?

Our cabinets are custom construction and the hood space is 36” wide per BlueStar specs. However, you cannot get a hood that is 36-1/16 into a 36” opening. Industry standard is a 36” hood is manufactured with a width of 35-7/8“ to fit a 36” opening. Both BlueStars we received were 36-1/16. We were using the BlueStar Proline. My husband has reached out to BlueStar direct, but no response as yet.

One of the advantages of buying appliances early in a reno is being able to measure them and satisfy one's cynical nature, where present.

Do these cabinets by any chance have filler strips at either end of their mounting space to aid full cabinet door opening (usually needed with overlay doors)? If present, a filler strip could be narrowed on a jointer and the cabinets moved as required.
