Need help with closet organization layout

I'm in the beginning stages of a master closet redo, but keep getting stuck on the layout. This is for two people, one prefers to fold his clothes (right side of layout), while I like to hang mine (left side). I'd like to get rid of our dressers, so the closet will need drawers. We are jean and t-shirt people, but do have some dressier clothes and I have a couple long coats.. There are two sets of bifold doors, and the middle wall (in between the doors) houses electrical lines. We can't expand the doorways either. Right on the floor in the middle of the closet is an air vent as well. This is not our forever house either, so I'd like it to appeal to others as well. Standard 8ft ceilings

Any thoughts? I'm going to do this semi diy. I was settled on the closet maid impressions 17" tower setups but then realized if I put two of them there, I won't be able to vacuum the carpet in the middle. My mind keeps designing symmetrical layouts with towers for each person, so I'd really appreciate some other perspectives.

This morning I looked at the Elfa catalog that came in the mail. It has lots of pictures of different closet designs that might inspire you. I found the online link from the container store website: http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/24317b23#/24317b23/8 And you could mix and match types of storage. You don't need to buy this particular brand, just take the designs you like and use as a foundation for your personalized space.

I have a long user history with Elfa and love it. I also spent 40 years in retail and am expert at space vs shelves...often people allow too much blank space between shelves and don't max their capacity. No matter what system you use, do pay attention to your ability to flex the shelves. My current closet shelving ranges from 4" to 8" apart. A 12" spacing is a waste of "dead air"

I was messing around in Sketchup can came up with this layout using hanging towers. The middle rod would hold dresses and unused dressy clothing for both of us. I'd skip putting in the bottom rods to see how it works with just the top first. If the bottom rods aren't needed, then the laundry basket and perhaps a shoe system would go there. The towers have adjustable shelves using pegs. Top shelf would be 12in from ceiling, and with a 72" hanging tower, that would give about 12" off the floor. Currently we just keep a carry on bag on our top shelf. Thoughts?

I love the container store. Looking at their shirt/ purses boxes and another layout came to mind. I personally don't have many purses/shoes/ or clothes, but that shelf (at 16") would be perfect for those taller tote purses, or it could work as shoe shelf. I could store seasonal clothing in boxes on that shelf too. It also breaks up the symmetry.
