I don't see any ideabooks for the exterior. What are you thinking you'd like it to be? Since your photo doesn't enlarge it is hard to tell what is actually going on with the porch and upper railing. Is there a balcony and access to it or are these simply added appendages?

Since the stone has already been painted (which I wish they wouldn't have) you're stuck with painted stone. Right now it seems too light to me. I would probably go with a taupe (gray/tan) tone that is closer to the roof color, and leave the trim white. The traditional style of your home doesn't really lend itself to any wild color schemes. I would also invest in some landscaping to help finish the look.

A few answers: The upper railings are not usable, rather decorative but similar design exists on the back of the home, with a very large balcony that overlooks a pool. Yes, we have completed the landscaping - the pic was after a tear out of the existing landscaping. I will post a newer one soon. I find the porch much too heavy for the facade. Here's a lighter treatment for the entrance. The railing here is quite heavy looking though.

Perhaps a pared down roof over the entry repeating the curve from the upper window, but without all the heavy, square bulk you have now.

If it is in your budget, I would removed the stone and go with a different stone. or, you can just remove half the stone on the house. I would place the new stone at the bottom of the home sorta like a stone trim. I would repaint the trim white or black and add shutters to the windows of white or black. I think the front porch and the railings are fine. They just need a different color. I would also change the roof to black shingles also. GIve it a classic look. As for as the color of your home, I would go with a greig on the home. sorta like the color in the photo.

Very nice house. I wish they hadnt painted it either, but, it is what it is. I dont mind the color, but, if it really needs paint, I would go one shade darker. Really, what your house needs is a brightly colored door, and some nice pots of flowers, and a much nicer landscaping.

All these homes gives me barefoot Contessa vibes. Your home is very beautiful btw. I would just do a door change, paint and remove some of that stone. Your home have so much character. I would not remove the railing, when you could use that to remove some of the stone or get new stone.
